Buckeburg. A heavy blow for Alexander Fürst zu Schaumburg-Lippe: A fire destroyed his “Lilly’s” café in the Bückeburger Schlosspark (Schaumburg district in Lower Saxony) on Saturday night. “An institution in Bückeburg fell victim to the flames last night,” writes the 64-year-old on Facebook.

For him it was a personal loss: “In 1997 I built this once very successful restaurant with Schaumburg’s largest beer garden with a lot of passion.” In the Facebook post he recalls the opening concert with Inga Rumpf and the Joha Wendt Quartet and other events . “Will it all be just a memory now? And: Was it arson?” asks about Schaumburg-Lippe.

According to the police, the fire broke out during the night for an initially unknown reason. A local resident heard a loud bang and called the fire department.
According to the police, when the emergency services arrived, the entire kitchen was already on fire, and no one was injured. The kitchen area is in danger of collapsing. The hall was heavily soiled by the soot and was not usable for the time being. The cause of the fire was initially unknown.
