CCOO calls for the resignation of the podemites Ribot and Carrasco for the dismissals at MAC Insular

The Union Habitat Federation CCOO has requested the resignation of the island councilor for Sustainability and the Environment, the podemita Aurora Ribotand the insular director of Waste, he also can John Carrascofor the dismissals in the waste management company MAC Insular due to its management.

In a press release collected by the Europa Press agency, the general secretary of the trade union’s Habitat federation, Michael Brown, has criticized the management of construction and demolition waste, the bulky and pneumatic ones, which has led to layoffs and a reduction in reception hours.

As they have recalled, the dismissals were justified by the reduction in reception and customer service hours at the transfer plants in Manacor, Llucmajor, Artà, Inca, Porreres and Santa Margarita.

The background of this “political” decision, as they have indicated, dates back to an agreement signed between the Consell de Mallorca and the company MAC Insular decided at the plenary session of the Insular Council on July 28.

The agreement, as explained, put an end to 12 years of legal disputes with the company, which claimed 100 million euros from the island institution.

However, for CCOO, mistakes that politicians could make in the private management of public services should not be paid for by citizens with the worsening of the service or the workers with their dismissals. After several meetings, readmission has not been achieved.
