The economist Emilio Ontiveros dies at the age of 74 | Economy

The prestigious economist Emilio Ontiveros has died this Monday in Madrid at the age of 74. The professor was also a well-known economic communicator who collaborated with several media outlets, including EL PAÍS and Cadena SER.

Born in 1948, Ontiveros was a professor of Business Economics at the Autonomous University of Madrid, where he was vice-rector in 1982. In 1987, he founded Analistas Financieros Internacionales (AFI), a consulting firm that he has chaired until now.

Ontiveros also directed the Economists Magazine from its foundation until December 2011. He was also the author of several books and collaborations in specialized magazines and the media. He was also a member of the editorial boards of various scientific and professional publications.
