Unexploded mortar shell caught in fishing net in Zonguldak

Unexploded mortar shells were caught in fishing nets off the coast of Ereğli district of Zonguldak. It was reported that the mortar shell, which was examined by the gendarmerie teams, lost its explosive feature. On the other hand, no explanation has yet been made about the origin of the mortar shell.

In the Ereğli district of Zonguldak, a mortar shell was attached to the fishing nets, which was determined to have lost its explosive feature. The fishermen, who went to the sea to fish in Bozhane, saw that unexploded mortar shells were caught in their nets. After the fishermen reported the situation, the police teams who came to the area called the gendarmerie for the unexploded mortar shell.


The Underwater Defense Group Command (SAS) teams, who came to the place for the controlled detonation of the mortar shell, made an examination. The mortar shell with a diameter of 120 millimeters, which was determined to have lost its explosiveness, was safely received.
