“Kazbegi” road, the only land border gate connecting Georgia and the Russian Federation, collapsed due to heavy rains. After the rivers overflowed and the road collapsed, the border gate was temporarily closed to traffic.
In a written statement made by the Revenue Administration of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, it was stated that all transactions at the “Kazbegi” border gate were temporarily suspended due to the worsening weather conditions.
The following statements were used in the statement, which noted that until a new order, the passage of people or cargo will not be possible:
“As a result of the flooding of the rivers (Tergi and Devdorak) due to heavy rains, a part of the road connecting Georgia and Russia (165th kilometer of the Dariali-Larsi road) near the border of the Russian Federation was damaged.”
In the statement, it was stated that the border gate will be opened after the road construction works.
