Thousands of immigrants who wanted to seek asylum from Spain by crossing to Melilla, which has a 20-kilometer border with Morocco, flocked to the border.
After the influx of immigrants that led to the disaster, the Moroccan and Spanish police united and opened fire at random on more than 2,000 immigrants.
While it was determined that more than 37 immigrants lost their lives in the fire opened by the police, hundreds of immigrants were seriously injured.
In the footage from the region, it was seen that the immigrants were piled on top of each other with gunshot wounds by the police on the border line.
While a group of immigrants manage to cross the border, many continue to be subjected to violence by the border police.
