Abdulmecid Efendi, the last caliph who fed his art with sadness

The exhibition collection, which consists of the works of the last Caliph Abdülmecid Efendi, who left deep traces in the Ottoman art life, consists of 60 paintings and more than 300 documents. Each piece of art on display is a mirror of the sad life story of the Caliph from his childhood to his death.

Abdülmecid Efendi, who died in exile in Paris at the age of 76, spent 50 years of his life as a prince, 4 years as a heir, 16 months as a caliph, and the last 20 years in exile.
