43 people killed in 3 attacks in Burkina Faso

In Burkina Faso, 43 people, including civilians, were killed in 3 attacks on the army.

According to local media reports, 5 volunteer militiamen and a civilian lost their lives in an ambush set up against the soldiers in the town of Oudalan in the Sahel region.

8 volunteer militiamen and 12 civilians lost their lives in the next attack in the Guessel district of the same region.

17 people, including women, children and militiamen, lost their lives in the attack on the volunteer militia escorting the convoy of civilian vehicles in the Kompienga district on the border of Benin.

No one has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.

Al-Qaeda and Daesh-linked terrorist groups in neighboring Mali have been carrying out frequent attacks in the north and east of Burkina Faso since 2015.

According to government data, 2,000 people, 600 of whom were security forces, were killed in the attacks from 2015 to December 2021.
