Biden was speaking in his State of the Union address to the US Congress, which has devoted a part of it, to the war in Ukraine.
“Putin may encircle Kyiv with tanks, but he will not win the hearts and minds of the Iranian people,” Biden said.
Vice President Kamala Harris was caught on camera, apparently realizing her boss had made a mistake.
Of course, the US president meant the Ukrainian people, but he got confused and mentioned the Iranian people instead.
This error ignited social media platforms, many of whose pioneers commented, especially Twitter, on the matter, as about 17,000 tweets appeared in just one hour linking “Biden and the Iranian people.”
Many joked about this mistake and another group criticized it, while a third group pointed out that it was just a mistake.
