The first statement from the President of Ukraine after the start of the Russian invasion

“We are strong, we are ready for everything and we will win,” Zelensky said in response to the Russian attack on his country.

Regarding the situation on the ground, Zelensky said that several explosions were heard in many cities in Ukraine, and added: “We have imposed martial law on all state lands,” according to “Reuters”.

The Ukrainian president appealed to his citizens to stay in their homes as much as possible.

And the Russian Information Agency quoted the Russian Defense Ministry as saying, on Thursday, that Moscow targets the infrastructure of the army, air defense and air forces in Ukraine with high-precision weapons and does not attack Ukrainian cities.

Russia’s ambassador to the United Nations, Vasily Nebenzia, said that his country was targeting the “ruling junta in Kiev” after Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a “military operation” in Ukraine.

At the conclusion of his speech to the UN Security Council, Nebenzia stated: “We are not aggressive towards the Ukrainian people, but towards the ruling junta in Kiev.”
