Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Sheikh Hamad Jaber Al-Ali Al-Sabah and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Ahmed Al-Mansour Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah resigned from their positions on Wednesday, a few hours after the foreign minister won the confidence of Parliament after being questioned in Parliament, according to “AFP”.

The Kuwaiti Al-Qabas newspaper quoted the Minister of Defense as saying that “the abuse of constitutional tools” is what prompted them to resign.

He continued, “Interrogations are a constitutional right…but I found myself and the rest of the ministers unable to achieve the aspirations of the people, who expect a lot from us, and this is their right, except that parliamentary practices hinder us from achieving the aspirations of the Kuwaiti people.”

Last December, a new Kuwaiti government was sworn in before the Crown Prince, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, becoming the fourth government to assume executive power in the Gulf state in two and a half years.
